Sepsis Prevention

Sepsis is a severe reaction to infection that can quickly become life threatening. Sepsis can increase the length of hospital or facility stays, and can have a devastating effect on the patient, including physical disability, organ damage or cognitive impairment.

AT Home Care is vigilant when it comes to sepsis prevention, implementing our “best practice” program to educate and train all staff in sepsis prevention, recognition, intervention and treatment.

With these prevention measures in place, AT Home Care has been able to effectively decrease the number of sepsis occurrences and sepsis-related hospital readmissions for our patients. Our program also includes specialized care for those who are admitted to home health following hospitalization for sepsis, helping them to attain the optimum level of health and functioning possible.
